    Does Anyone Know...

Why there were a plethora of hot men in the gym this evening? (Plethora - go watch The Three Amigos)

Seriously, there was an awful lot of attractiveness going on tonight. PLUS, a few of them were in the pool towards the end of the night, which means I have to ask them to get out of the pool, and then watch them do so. Bargain.

Been trying to watch the calories, and went for a run today, following Batesy The Manager's guidelines for running - toes up, power then relax, hands open, knees up, stand tall - but only for about 25min, cause I had a client. Was rooted. Bad news for the half marathon if I can only go that far and be screwed. :( Of well. I've run marathons in worse shape. Yes, I am that much of an idiot.

So much of an idiot that I want to do an Ironman. I could do it tomorrow, but it would take me half a week, and you have to do it in less than 15 hours. Bugger. Might actually have to TRAIN for that one. (3.9km swim, 180km cycle, 42km run)

Turns out my client at her house is super awesome. Lovely girl, been through some sh*t, but we're going to make her even more super fabulous than she is. Did boxing this morning and then took her for a run, and she loves boxing, so we DO get on fabulously. :) Has a great house and seemingly very nice family (met Mum, and spoken to Dad, and they seem lovely) and a cute dog who when I made her do push ups this morning ran in and proceeded to lick her face. I love dogs. :)

    Whoa, Easter.

    Bad Katie. Very Bad.

Lindt Chocolate Easter bunny turned up at my house on Sunday, and promptly got eaten. (I warned him, I did.) Well, him AND his friend, AND their eggs... Had a regular chocolate binge for easter. Very bad Katie.

But tonight is basketball semi-final #2, which I am looking forward to immensely. Will also endeavour to get another workout in this afternoon (running hurrah) because I've been an utterly slack cow. Workout with Batesy The Manager tomorrow instead of boring "workshop" (where they usually want me to talk about training) which means I get ARMY TRAINING, which I adore more than anything. Batesy The Manager is a bit of a contradiction, as he's Maori, ex-army, cut like nothing else, but is also the only qualified yoga and pilates instructor trainer at my gym - which means he can put both legs behind head - Kitty, stop drooling. Love training with him, cause he makes me WORK hard.

Still miss training with Darren the PT though, but will hopefully get a chance to get back into that at some point. Pain is my friend.

Clients are going well, going to a house tomorrow morning to work with a girl called Kate (same as me, yay!) and so I'm sure we'll get along famously.

Day Two of Dexa Scan Eating

And I'm 98.8, which is 0.6kg down. Pretty impressed, but that's probably just because I've actually been counting calories/ carbs, etc.

Am going to go for a run tomorrow morning (if I can get out of bed) for about 40-60minutes and see how I fare. Haven't been running much, and that needs to change to make sure that I can complete the 1/2 in May in a reasonable clip, and not be utterly embarrassed.

Am hoping to actually get some sleep tomorrow night, and thank God I've got Friday off work (we're closed) or I'd go nuts.

    So. Tired.

    So, I'm shattered.

Today I was at the gym at 6:30 for Julie (and Caitlan, but she piked). Then I came home, slept for 30 minutes, got back up and went back to the gym for three more clients, and then a course, and then two more clients and then floor hours till 9. I am shagged. Pretty much 13 hours of madness.

Course was good, but I'm so over people knowing my brother. Instructor works at Bondi Platinum, knows my brother very well, along with knowing my old Boss (evil Derek), my new old boss (Andrew from Vision) and still workig for my current workplace - Fitness First. he also knows my TAFE teachers, as he used to teach at Randwick. God the Shire is inbred. You know "Six Degreees of Separation"? The Shire (area of Sydney) is about two degrees. Everyone you know knows someone else you know, but you haven't introduced them. E.g. today I found out that one of the girls I know from Vision, who's birthday I 'm going to tomorrrow, knows the brother of my friend's new husband. Facebook, thy knows all.

As for my brother... for those who are uninitiated - Yes, he's hot. Yes, he's a personal trainer. And yes, he's single. If you're a member of Fitness First and see the ads with Brendan Juilan (cricket type person) and some guy talking about fitness... that's my brother, Simon. I know he's hot, I keep getting bloody told he is. Just look, and if you're in Sydney, message me and I'll suss you out for introduction... :) Yes, I'm willing to pimp out my brother, I'm that kind of girl.

But, back to me, most important topic of the day, sticking to 1500 calories is HARD work. I'm used to eating much more crap than this, especially protein. Loved my protein, but not anymore. 30/40/30 split, and we'll see how we go. I've been feeling very virtuous, although deprived during the last couple of days. But Sunday should be the teller, as I want to do a 10km run, and we'll see how 1500 calories handles that, plus basketball, plus weights. (I am assuming craptacular explosion of lack of energy at about 7pm)

Outdoor training in the morning with my business partner Dave (aka The Shark), and hopefully getting about 15 people to show (which gives us some decent cash), and then groceries, more work and sleeping.

    Shattered.

    DEXA Scan

So, Tuesday night I decided to have my caliper measurements done with one of the other trainer at the gym. According to the 4 site test (I wasn't in the mood to do 6, 7 or 9 sites) I am 19% body fat.

So, Wednesday, I'm talking to my manager and he mentions this place that does full body scans - DEXA Scans - and how accurate they are in body fat measurements and all the info that goes with that. He said it was free for personal trainers at Fitness First, so I ring up and book in.

Not free, cause some d*ckheads from other gyms have let other people use their shirts so that they can get the freebies too. So now I pay $88. But, was worth it.

It does bone density - i.e. risk of osteoporosis - and mine rocks. I apparently will have no problems, even past menopause (and I'm only 29). Weight training ladies (and gents) it's what does it.

Bodyfat wise - 10 points out from the calipers, I'm apparently carrying 29kg of fat. Now, best sizing is 20-25kg of fat. So, I'm dropping 9kg of fat.

But I am carrying 66kg of muscle, when most chicks have only 40kg. I kick all your asses, so there.

And with all this new found information, we worked out that my Resting Metabolism (aka if all I did was sleep all day) is 2094 calories. If I wanted to maintain my weight, all I eat is 2947 calories. I'm aiming to shed the unwanted and unsightly 9kg of fat so I'm cycling my calories, having 4 days of 1500 calories (Thurs - Sun) and 3 days of 2000 calories (Mon - Wed).

I hate counting calories, so we worked out a nutrition plan of 30/40/30 - protein / carbs / fat - so today's 1500 calories are 113g protein, 130g carbs, 50g fat. Which is pretty much the carbs and fat I've been eating anyway, and just cutting down the protein - the boys at Vision are going to be ANGRY!!! :) Ha Ha

But, hopefully, when I return for another scan in 12 weeks, I will be looking sh*t hot and down a few kg of fat. Muscle I can live with what I've got, it's the fat I want to scrape off with something sharp...

    Bet You'd Thought...

    That I'd disappeared on you.

Well, I had a bit. Work has been pretty hectic (I have CLIENTS!) but I've been feeling pretty run down and tired recently. Not enough sleeping and too much getting up early for work. Still getting up early, but also trying to get to bed earlier and eat better too.

On that front, I've been utterly slack. As in I'm 99.6kg again today.

But, new motivation has arrived in the form of running season! (Rabbit season, duck season, rabbit season, ....) SMH Half Marathon is May, Sutherland to Surf is July, City to Surf is August, and AND my 2nd ever marathon is September. Yes, I am an idiot, yes I am going to do it again.

Anyone want to join me in the Sutherland to Surf? Only 11km and there are running and walking options... :) I can even get Real Fit t-shirts made! I'm going to get some done for myself, and perhaps some down for my outdoor classes too, and get all my people to do the events together!

But I am totoally pimping myself out to any clients - so Sydneysiders, come and train at Sylvania Fitness First! My lovely picture is up on the wall, and I do fabulous work. I even did my first boxing class today, and got good reviews. I so rock.

As for my fabulous bloggers that I read - I am still reading you, I swear, it's just that I'm flat chat some of the time, so I don't get to comment or read as often as I'd like. But I still read you, and you are all hot. (Especially Kitty, cause I've seen the pics... ha ha )

I will endeavour to post more, and even set myself a challenge for the SMH Half Marathon, and then the marathon (Sutho and City to Surfs don't count, cause they're not long enough - yes, I am an idiot.).

    What should my challenges be?

They can be weight (as mentioned 99.6kg today), time (previous time was 143min for half marathon and 5hr 21min for full marathon - yes, I 'm slow as well as stupid) or something totally out there.
